Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the last adult teeth to erupt. Many people develop impacted wisdom teeth as they don't have enough room to erupt in the mouth.  Impacted teeth may erupt partially or not at all.

An impacted tooth may grow at an angle towards another tooth or towards the back of the mouth causing pain and discomfort

What to Expect During the Treatment?

Here is what you can expect during your wisdom teeth appointment:

  • Local anesthesia used to numb the teeth and gums

  • A small incision created in the gums near the impacted tooth for access

  • Tooth removed or divided into separate parts for easier extraction

  • Incision closed with surgical sutures

  • Gauze placed over the surgical area to minimize bleeding

  • Recovery completed within two weeks

What to Expect During Recovery?

We provide you with the following aftercare instructions to ensure a successful recovery:

  • To reduce pain and discomfort after surgery, take the medicines prescribed by our dentist

  • To minimize inflammation and swelling, apply a cold compress to the jaw area

  • To recover safely, avoid any strenuous activity and eat a soft-food diet
